“Nrvs have an innate punk swagger” Hard of Hearing
“…off-kilter post-punk bangers” Louder Than War
In previous times you would have seen Nrvs building pink boats, breaking into places & supergluing themselves to things – but where did they go? Well… after an enforced interlude held at his majesty’s pleasure, the mysterious UK-based outfit are back with new track The Sane – an electro-punk gem from their just released 4 track EP I Like You.
Co-produced by the band at South London’s Off License studios where Joy Crookes, Peeping Drexels, Muck Spreader & Sleaze have all frequented, The Sane incorporates a mix of electro & indie flavours over a hip-hop inspired beat. It’s the closing track on the EP & like their previous single I Like You plays further on the dreary world of mechanised dating through mobile apps & the like – a sort of industrialised mating!
Vocalist Ten Pence expresses a disdain for the shallow nature of such risk-free dating in his lyric “I spent some money, she spent some time, I said something funny, she drank some wine” while later in the track he ‘ups the game’ risking it all with the line: “Full tank of gas money too, hope we don’t crash baby, how about you?”.
