Enigmatic Hull based non-binary artist Bizarrefae is back with the track Sad Clown. It’s a tale of romantic betrayal & the resultant feelings of anger & distrust, which is taken from their new album Revolting – a body of work described by the artist as ‘an anthology of stories that display the spiral into villainy by our faerie antagonist’.
With its ethereal ‘other-worldly’ intro, produced by creative collaborator & Hull’s ‘King of Electro’ Endoflevelbaddie, the track Sad Clown sees Bizarrefae lay their deepest emotions out for all to see. Lyrically expressing elements of jealousy mixed with the sadness of what could have been, Bizarrefae struggles to articulate the mixed emotions surfacing during the relationship’s breakup – but such naked vulnerability gives Sad Clown a powerful credibility. Bizarrefae says of the release “for me it’s about the aftermath of having your heart broken through the abuse & betrayal of being cheated on, while dealing with the impending hell of realising the joke was on you for trusting that you’d ever be enough”.
