Following the critical success of her previous single Midnight, which has enjoyed ongoing support from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio & Seattle’s Channel R, Hull based singer-songwriter Amelia Quinn is back with her empathetic new single Out of Sight – a track written from the perspective of someone struggling with anxiety within a relationship.

Released on Hull’s now renowned talent hub Warren Records & recorded under the guidance of local indie producer Adam Pattrick, the song tells a story of anxiety & how it can grow in one’s own mind, widening the gap between imagination & reality.

Lyrically written as a stream of consciousness, blurting out intrusive thoughts, Amelia expresses the gabbling voice that can fill your head when feeling vulnerable & under pressure; not quite making sense but feeding the monster crowding your head. Referencing breath control as a well-known coping method for dealing with panic in the lyric, the track builds in intensity throughout & in the process portrays how noisy the narrative can get inside an anxious mind.

Amelia explains: I want Out of Sight to be there as a reassurance blanket to those who suffer with anxiety – you are not alone! No matter how good someone’s life looks on the outside, you never know how noisy it can be in their mind. Please be kind to everyone”.
