“A rich and textured sound that’s both polished & raw” – Eat This Music
Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut EP Sunrise last year, East Yorkshire & Hull based indie / alt-pop band Avis are back with the infectious Daffodil Girl – a tale of jealously and envy involving a character who wishes to bring harm to the extremely beautiful but rather narcissistic ‘Daffodil Girl‘. The release also comes with an acoustic version of the previously released Echo Chamber – an evocative track with a melancholic groove about ex-friends & letting go of past emotions.
Produced by Warren Records’ indie aficionado Adam Pattrick, Daffodil Girl’s jangle-pop guitars give the track a light & airy feel – but lyrically it tells a dark story around the concept of ‘body (or pretty) privilege’, in which infatuation, envy & romantic rejection lead to an unwarranted desire to bring harm to the wanted party as a way of resolving their emotional strife.
